  3. Reading your reports of what has been going on in Perak I must confess I am both appalled as well as greatly encouraged…appalled by the brazen attempt by Najib and Co to grab power “through the back door” instead of allowing the people of Perak to once and for all decide for themselves who they want to run their State for them. Havn’t the BN learnt anything from their defeat in March last year…that they CANNOT ride roughshod over the people’s interest? Havn’t they realised that the Malaysian political scene has irrevocably changed and that their very survival as a political force can no longer be guaranteed by the money politics that they have used so successfully the past? I am greatly encouraged and heartened by the resistance of the good people of Perak to this gross misuse of Federal power and money. Democracy certainly has ARRIVED in Malaysia!

  4. Was the Perak drama planned to make people forget about Kugan’s case?

I noticed in the past when there is a scandal, suddenly a new drama or a scandal would appear and the first scandal is “conveniently forgotten”

  5. Nobody is above the law
Rulers, law makers and ordinary people
All are subjected to its principle
You can be sued and counter sued

    All aggrieved parties
Law is the arbiter of a grievance
The Courts shall be the avenue
Put up a case let it be judge

    In the Constitutional monarchy
The ruler must follow the wishes of the people
It is the people mandate deciding the course of the country
The monarchy is a symbol to allay the fear and frustrations
Of his people, a judge to bring harmony to parties
He must decide the best course of action
For the needs of the people and country…

When the majority of his people
    Airing views differently
He should take cognizance of the fact
Before he accedes to a request

  6. It takes longer for us to sack an office despatch boy. How can the MB be removed so quickly?!! Where is the due process of the law? We are now the laughing stock of the whole world. (Don’t forget, Sultan or not, he is still a human being after all ….)

Are the people bilnd enough to vote for BN and still support them. All you BN supporters, dont you have commonsense & a consciense

  8. … Kenapa sampai begini? Daulat Tuanku.

  11. The power of suggestion. Now that they’ve fallen for it, it’s time to play the underdog to the hilt.

As in a chess game, you need to be one step ahead of your opponent. It helps if you know how your opponent thinks and behaves, and who better than the ex number two?

It takes one to know one. Anwar, ever the strategist. No wonder they fear him.

  12. Yes, the way the MB has been treated by the state secretary and the reporters being shouted at to leave the MB’s office. Plus the MB’s office drawers being emptied. The other exco complained that their keys can no longer open their own offices speaks volume of harassment by the higher authority. Who gave authority to the state secretary? If umno claimed to be the legitimate government, why do all these in such a great haste. It only shows that they are big bullies. Even though I am from Sabah, I am for Datuk Seri Nizar. You have my support and prayers.

  13. I congratulate Najib for his supreme achievement of making himself the most despised political figure in Malaysian history. Umno/BN has totally lost confidence in the electoral process (despite their established practice of planting Umno-sympathizers in the EC as chairmen). …

  15. A dangerous precedent has been set with the unceremonious dismissal of the legitimately-elected Perak MB by the Sultan. From henceforth, any elected head of state or MB can be fired by the monarch of state under similiar circumstances. Even the PM can be dismissed by Agung behind closed door under similiar circumstances. Rest be assured BN’s evil deed will be back to haunt them!

When BN dealt democracy the death blow, they robbed the Perakians of their basic right. One of these days, the table will be turned and BN will be on the receiving end of this precedent they engineered. What goes around, always come around. Remember how the quota system for UNMO nomination and APs return to taunt the man who engineered those things? He is still harping about the unfairness of that quota system and ‘all sort funny things’ about the APs. Beware of the traps one set for others, they are like warped projectiles on a looping destiny with their creator.

The voters of each constituency should get together and file a multi-million civil against the respective froggy representative for misrepresentation, fraud and deceit. Let it be a reminder for future would-be frogs that they cannot just betray and cheat the people without ramification.

  17. As a man on the street with no political ambitions and without law knowledge, I can simply conclude that Rakyat should be the party that decide. The assembly should be dissolve and re-election be conducted. I just fail to understand why the learned one can’t see this…I am impressed with all the well said phrases of the royalty but what compelled him to decide against the wishes of the Rakyat? To satisfied the world, isn’t it proper to stand out and give an explanation?

  19. (longer version)
PBS claimed that the Kataks culture started by Anwar. Please get the history right. Mahathir was the mastermind during the peak of his power. PBS you are shameful to claw back to BN and betrayed all Sabahan.
All Sabahan still remember when Mahathir denounced Pairin for this “stab in the back” and began to intervene directly in Sabah politics through the establishment of a local UMNO branch. Its ally the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) also established local branches in the state. Within a few months of the 1990 elections, Pairin was charged with three counts of corruption and his brother Jeffrey Kitingan was detained under the Internal Security Act (ISA) for allegedly plotting Sabah’s secession from Malaysia. He was held without charge for two years.
At the 1994 elections, UMNO used its control of the two state-owned TV stations as well as the UMNO-controlled TV3 to campaign against the PBS and attack Pairin in particular for corruption. UMNO finances were poured into the electorates in the form of cash gifts for voters. According to Pairin: “Money was virtually being thrown from helicopters and distributed freely in coffee shops.”

The outcome was a narrow 25-23 victory for the PBS, which used its majority to appoint another six party members as assemblymen. But within two weeks, three PBS MPs had changed sides to the BN, reportedly after receiving substantial financial inducements. Further defections followed, the PBS government collapsed and for the first time an UMNO member was sworn in as chief minister.

We Sabahan still wonder why Pairin clawing back to his Big Nanny?
before accusing Anwar, please answer this will you?

  20. Just had a look at NST and Star online, Karpal is having a press conference and has gone on a rant against LIm Kit Siang, Guan Eng and Anwar. He has asked Anwar to step down from leading Pakatan! Malaysiakini and the Malaysianinsider are not reporting this.

Plus Berita Harian and Utusan are really pushing this derhaka issue and claiming the Rakyat is angry at people for going against the palace when it is the other way around!

Utusan is quoting from various UMNO front groups NGO’s (at least that’s what I think they are).

They are trying to create a sense of crisis by somehow creating the impression that people are angry at Pakatan!

UMNO youth is also holding a rally tomorrow (location not reported) in support of the monarchy. The assumption is that a police permit will be given.

Fellas, at the first sign of trouble, JUST ABANDON SHIP why don’t u?
Now is the time to stand TOGETHER.
Can someone just ask Karpal to keep quiet for now?
Anyway does Karpal speak for the whole DAP, or just himself.
BN would be laughing themselves silly.
LGE please clarify – is this the way u wanna go?
FOOLS – both DAP and I, for supporting them.
