Pakatan Rakyat supporters gather at the Mentri Besar’s official residence tonight

ipoh-001

Ipoh at 6.30pm. A huge dark cloud hangs over Ipoh as the rain pelted down

This time, although I will leave the readers’ comment feature on in the ‘live’ pane below, I will only approve a few selected comments to appear inside the pane so that the flow of the report is not disrupted. Remember, this is not a chat room. If you find your comment not appearing inside the pane, you can always add it at the end of this post in the usual way.

  2. All Mighty and most merciful Father, We humbly beseech Thee, of thy great goodness to restrain this predicadment with which we have had to contend. Grant us His Provisions, Wisdoms, Guidances & Blessings for battle. Graciously hearken to us as soldiers who call upon Thee that, armed with Thy power, we may advance from victory to victory, and crush the oppression and wickedness of our enemies and establish Thy justice among men and nations. Amen.

  8. Democratic or not, constitutional or not, it is the fault of Pakatan Rakyat (PR) for being a weak government in the first place. The two assemblymen for Changkat Jering and Behrang were tainted from the beginning. PR gleefully accepted the hopping Bota guy but when the tables are turned, it cried foul.
The Sultan is the head of the state and if he does not consent, then he does not consent, period. Nizar blundered and now he and his bunch should accept defeat.

  9. Thanks, Anil, for being the blogger on the spot for those of us who couldn’t be physically there to show our support for the legitimate MB of Perak, Mohd Nizar Jamaluddin who has proven to be a competent, progressive, open-hearted & well loved personality. It’s been a long time since Perak – or any state – has seen such a good man head the government.

Damn that pink-lipped son of … . This only adds to his vast accumulation of negative karma. More power to the spirit of Altantuya!

  11. Hmmm…all this very bad-bad politicking :) instead of productively working, is not looking very good for the poor, hard-working Perakite-people now is it?

Hmm…and after they have taken their valuable time out to go and vote for these politicking,party-hopping frogs, what do these worthless frogs do?

Be very naughty :( and also greedy and try to sell-out and hang high and dry the poor Perakites, like what that backstabbing bad Judas did to his Master ….
But hang on a minute….hmm, didn’t that same Judas then also go and hang himself with some rope and then :D swing dead from some tree somewhere?

WE SAY YEAH! & NO TO ISA! :P AND HARIS FOR AG & RPK FOR IGP! GO FOR DSAI FOR PM & LKS FOR DPM & KIND WAN AZIZAH FOR HOME MINISTER.

2009 Resolution: Seek out all garbage and recycle or dispose post haste for a healthier life and planet!

  14. dear Anil

I do not think Anil. It is a dawn of a NEW ERA like Obama.
But we do not have a man like Obama here yet.

As I mentioned earlier, it is foregone conclusion that the BN
is at its last days. Do not worry.

For the Atrocities they committed against Malaysians in general
and Malaysian Indians in particular, they will must reap the benefit.

Malaysian Indians have no leadership. Samy is very happy looking
after hif conglomerate of Corporations. Who else is there. Samy has quarrelled with almost
all his deputies who were supposed to take over. You must have
one leader, duly qualified, but most of them had no guts to face samy.

Coming back to Perak incident: what is need for a Federal leader
to be in Bukit Chandan. He has no business to be there. It is a
state matter and there is a Perak Constitution.

Acording to Haris Ibrahim ‘Constitutions of the states of Malaysia’ and this is what Article 36(5) of the Perak constitution stipulates :

“A casual vacancy shall be filled within sixty days from the date on which it shall be established by the Election Commission that there is a vacancy…”

The Perak Sultan (know he was a Chief Justice at one time but too old now) should not have entertained the Federal Ministers
and told them to get lost as it is a State matter and he knows how
to handle it. I suspected since March that the Perak Sultan was not happy with the PKR because even the swering-in was done by his son.

In a sense it is good that royalties mess up things – so that the
Rakyat will know their true COLOUR – siding with political parties
which are about to sink for good.

I was surprised and happy to know that what Mahathir said, only once that the UMNO is wrong in placing candidates who are under Police investigation for corruption. Most of the time he talks
non-sense but here he had a good sense. He had a big gathering regarding Palestine Affair, but Maha had his own agenda.

Israelis knew now and will not wag their tails – because OBAMA is in charge and he is THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF TODAY . He will send his forces if the ZIONISTS ARE TRYING TO BE FUNNY.

let us watch the ‘show’ of wayang kulit of Perak.

Whos is the PKR legal advisor – what happended to Siva Rasa.

let us watch the ‘show’ of wayang kulit of Perak.

  15. Look, to add more logical analysis to the debate about party hopping, let us be clear about three things:

    1. If party hopping followed by snap elections is justified as an unjust means to a fair end, then there will be no end to party hopping, what more when vast amounts of money is offered under the table. (Anwar, pls take note, you are at an economic disadvantage in this respect).

    2. Now that both BN (sin by commission) and PKR (sin by temptation) have created this political mess, it is the honourable thing for both Anwar/PKR leaders and Najib to outlaw party hopping. But first, to regain his credibility with the voters, Najib should call a snap election soon in Perak to make amends for the unfairness with which the Perak people are subjected to. That way, he will be doing what Anwar actually promised, cross over and give back the mandate to the electorate.

    3. Politics is often dirty and devoid of ethics. But the spectators, i.e voters have an active role to play. They can either walk out in protest or continue watching the drama. If the civil rights activists and bloggers had debated thoroughly the issue of cross-overs (Anwar’s 916 tactics), they would have seen its dangers, both ethical and political. Aside from PKR’s greatest political weapon of being anti-NEP and anti-corruption, the lack of a shadow cabinet, concrete policies for the economy and a new set of values to unite a multi-ethnic people was sorely lacking.

So the blame for the current Perak crisis should be shared with Malaysia’s intellectuals, bloggers and silent citizens.

  16. The gods in KL and Klang cried too yesterday when the deluge came down at about the same time that it occurred in Ipoh. This is a reflection of our empathy with the people of Perak.
I was full of indignation at the events that unfolded in the single darkest day in Malaysian history. Let the 871,736 Perakians who voted in PRU12, go to the polls again and determine the kind of government that they desire – a very fair fight indeed.
HRH Sultan of Perak is a man of wisdom, and people become wise and enlightened from observations made. I am sure HRH saw the mass of people out in the streets urging him to dissolve DUN, and he too must have read the comments in his Dreambook guestbook plus the many that were posted in numerous blogs. At the last election 51% of those who went to the polls voted for PAKATAN RAKYAT whilst only 46% voted for BN. This is a clear sign that the majority of Perakians want PR to stay on. But then asking for a re-election is the best method to settle the score, and should BN wins so be it and this verdict would be respected and accepted by all.

  18. So when a PKR crossover to BN , parliment should be dissolved , because it is not what the people want and its a dirty tactic

but when a BN crossover to PKR , he will be hailed as a hero despite that he left BN because he coudlt get the post he wanted anyway

this proves that PKR and their supporter is practicing double standard and being hypocrite

look who started the game of crossover first? you all were supporting it back then remember 16th september? ring any bells?
