Issues and trends

The authorities obviously don’t want to expose students to critical views on government policies. In that sense, they are restricting the space for freedom of expression even within campus. Politicians who are supportive of government policies, on the other hand, don’t seem to face similar restrictions.

The GST, a regressive tax, is deeply unpopular with the rakyat. Could it, along with 1MDB and Tabung Haji, be the straw that breaks the camel’s back?

When university students are not trained to think critically, the quality of higher education suffers and will continue to erode.

Remember not to do as you please. ???? Follow the law ??? Remember how the defacto break the gate of UM and barged in. Also remember how the UMNO guys barged into Penang State assembly. The UMNO guys have been indicted, charged and fined while the defacto is still free. Look like there is double standard with the opposition always getting off free.

  2. Don`t go overboard and make uncalled remarks or allegation. Amos of Singapore was slapped in the face is it not although it is not the right thing to do

    • Singapore is not KL. Spore is a republic and Malaysia not. Najib to transform Malaysia like his buddy Obama to grant Freedom to all levels where’d you are super or not.

  3. Msian U students need space to express their feelings; and Rafizi appears to be their savior which umporno folks still fail to understand.

  4. Critical thinking skills has never been promoted in the school curriculum under BN in order for students to grow up ikut perintah. Logical thinking is certainly lacking as evident in the drop in the OECD ranking in maths and science capability that is lower than the Vietnamese!

There are certain readers in this blog that refuse to link issues with cause and effect but to look at things in a narrow perspective in isolation of other factors.
