I recall nearly ramming into a back of a car that braked suddenly because a lorry was turning out from the construction site. conveniently enough, the entrance to the construction site was at a dangerous bend. development in penang badly needs to be controlled. it wouldn't be wise to follow the example of Selangor and KL of cutting hills. The areas of Klang Valley are desperately in need of fresh air. Unfortunately housing areas located near greeneries are luxury homes. Do we have to pay to be close to nature? Do the poor have no right to breathe in some semblance of fresh air everyday? Get rid of the need for tourist to use taxis or buses to go from one place to another. Use a rail system like tram to do it. Even if it means a one way traffic for it. It must be clear to all that the savings accrued by calling off both projects can be more wisely used (and at a very much lower cost) to develop a more environment friendly internal transport system on the Island. I can only hope that CM Lim Guan Eng and his government colleagues will listen to the people of Penang and put an end to this madness of throwing away good money on projects that are not good at all in the long term for Penangites and the island itself. Thank you too for highlighting the continued RAPE of the hills of Penang with the mindless cutting up of the fast disappearing hills on the island all for the sake of so-called development. It is a stupid idea that we should think that more houses means development. Penang has more than enough housing for Penangites and all these approvals for new housing is just a means for some parties to feed on the frenzy of escalating property prices. May I remind our dear Government that while some people are desperately cutting up hills and building more houses, inner Penang is full of delapidated houses and is dying fast. I hope I am not talking too much when I suggest that CM Lim GE should really set up a department which is dedicated to listening to and working on thought and ideas of people who want to see a better Penang - not necessarily one full of fume emitting vehicles all caught in an eternal traffic jam from 6am to 12 midnight.
