Penang water consumption still higher than national average

Despite a slight drop in water consumption in Penang from 291 litres per person per day in 2010 to 285 litres in 2011, it is still higher than the national average of 203 litres.

The problem with GDP

Why is GDP such a poor measure of the economic well being of the people of a country? For one thing, it only measures “goods” (and services) but not the “bads”.

Australia is so huge and yet Lynas Corporation could not find anywhere suitable there and instead chose Gebeng, Kuantan for its rare earth refinery – and its waste.
