Chief Minister Guan Eng has issued a warning to Nusmetro Ventures after the Oasis developer’s “highly irresponsible and inflammatory” threats yesterday.

Meanwhile, the state investigative committee needs to quickly get to the bottom of the circumstances surrounding the questionable sale and land transfers. What has happened to the villagers’ report to the MACC?

The State Government will not take a single cent of the so-called “goodwill payment” from the developer unless the kampung Buah Pala residents agree to the compensation.

The Penang state government warns Nusmetro Ventures (P) Sdn Bhd, the developer of the proposed housing project in Kampung Buah Pala, for threatening to send bulldozers in by August 2 to forcibly evict residents and demolish their houses as highly irresponsible and inflammatory. It is highly improper to stoke fear into the villagers’ hearts by reminding them that they will have to move out by Aug 2 when the one-month grace period given by the developer expires and there will be “no more extensions”. The one-month grace period was negotiated by the state government with the developer to find a solution to the problem.

Nusmetro claimed to have offered the highest compensation in the state from RM140,000 to RM260,000 to the temporary occupation of land (TOL) holders as well as their immediate and extended families. And even offered one of the two cattle ranchers there RM330,000 including a five-year rent-free deal for land in Balik Pulau which was rejected.

To say that the developer has the legal right not to pay anything to the residents just because the developer has a Federal Court order, would not assist in resolving this problem. Instead of all the cruel talk about bulldozers, the developer should continue to seek solutions that works towards a win-win situation for all parties. For this reason, the state government will not take a single cent of the “goodwill payment” proposed by the developer to the state government unless the villagers of Kampung Buah Pala agrees to the compensation.

I wish to reiterate that the state government has nothing to do with the eviction, or the Federal court order and the bringing in of bulldozers to demolish the houses. Instead the state government had intervened to prevent the eviction of the residents since last year. Even though this is a court order obtained by the developer, the state government would continue to work aggressively to try to assist the villagers.

I voted for the PR government. I think Hindraf needs to lighten up. Be reasonable. Send out positive messages. You have enemies in your camp. Call Guan Eng and speak to him.

  3. Why in h3// don’t they just take the RM 200,000 and end their days of living in a squatter? If they want tax payers money of RM1 million for each villager, that is just greedy. Go to BN for next election. It is because of BN Gomen that you are still living in squatter for the past 50 years.

Dei Hindraf, this is not Tamil movie da. You don’t roll on the floor crying everyday and expect people to give you way everytime. Grow up!

Try be independant and see if Penangite will vote for you gangsters.

  4. If I were LGE, I also will not talk to the villagers until the villagers also go to bark at the people who did the real harm and damage to them.

If the villagers are going to show different treatment to people, NICER to people who actually harm them, VERY NASTY to people who do not harm them and wanted to help them, then the villagers deserved to be cheated by the people who harm them, because it may show the villagers cannot think clearly at the first place, that is why the villagers are now in this position.

  5. One of the main reason for the political tsunami was HINDRAF,the Chinese and Indian voters had opened their eyes and rejected BN.I was one of them.Everybody has their own opinions but anger and provocation won’t solve anything. If it is true as what the villagers claim that LGE had promised them to settle the land issue before the election, then he must held accountable.LGE shouldn’t hide from the villagers,he must face them and explain the real scenario. All of us know this problem started from the previous BN govt but the govt now must find a best solution without washing their hands. The blaming game has to be stopped and DAP must prove its capability as a solid govt which can solve any crisis.

    More juicy revelations from hindraf…

    =============================================
Guan Eng claims that the land which is believed to be transfered under dubious manner by the previous BN Government is the fault of the previous Government. But he must remember that the actual transfer of the said land had occured during his tenure as the Chief Minister.

If the previous Government had made (an allegedly) fraudulent deal then he is part of the transaction for having sanctioned the transfer after he became the Chief Minister.

So the answer is there !!! Guan Eng dared not talk to the villagers neither has he visited Kampong Buah Pala , because he’s an (alleged) accomplice and he is part of the transaction (if he had allegedly) sanctioned the transfer after he became the Chief Minister and during his watch .

When he became CM the first thing that he should have done is to bring up the files on Kampong Buah Pala and immediately put a halt to the transferof the land title . But he did not so who to blame ? Blame him of course and no one else .

Further he was two busy with the parliamentary stuff which I have commented many , many times that Penang is on autopilot or by remote control , as he Guan Eng is always not around in Penang . He is either in Parliament , in Malacca or in Perak giving moral support to the Nizar fella , but is rightly non of his business , since his Ah Pek fella is there . He should have concentrated on running the Penang govt , but he’s always not around . He has to divide his time with his wife ( Penang ) his mistress ( parliament ) and his girlfriends ( Perak and Malacca )
So its not surprising he is not aware of anything happening in Penang , including the resignation of his Deputy Fairuz until asked by the international press in Singapore , and all he could say was , wa Tak Tau tanya Anwar !!
So , how can Guan Eng keep going on like this and keep shifting the blame to someone else and using diversionary tactics like land sols at cheap price ..blah..blah ..blah ..his teacher must have taught him very well to recite blah ..blah ..black sheep have any dough.
Nevermind lah keep doing this and for the Ah Pek and him together keep harping on issues of non importance and keep whacking innocent Chinese leaders and neglect Penang.

Anil should know this issue better , the one issue not fully blown up is the development around Chee Seng gardens . The time is still not ripe yet . More to come , be patient ..more to be exposed .

  10. Mr W Moorty deeply regrets hiding in UK but he knows he cannot come back without being thrown in Jail!
So he (allegedly) try to suck up to the BN by attacking LGE hoping to get some favours.
So he makes use of the unfortunate family in the kampong giving them unreasonable expectations!
So the previous state politicians were unfair and (allegedly) crooked and plotted and managed to get state land relatively for free. The poor kampong people were shortchanged and lost out in court!
Now there is a change of state government! Really what can they do except to proceed according to law. To acquire the land they will have to pay an exhorbitant amount. How do you justify that? What happens when other squatters are in a similar situation?
Are there no less deserving ?
LGE and the Pakatan have a duty to all the voters in Penang and have to do right by them! To do anything else because of (intimidation) by W Moorthy will mean betrayal! Obviously some BN… are joining W Moorthy to suggest such betrayal but I believe the Pakatan will not be easily fooled!

  13. “Guan Eng claims that the land which is believed to be transfered under dubious manner by the previous BN Government is the fault of the previous Government. But he must remember that the actual transfer of the said land had occured during his tenure as the Chief Minister.”

You should really think carefully. When the document signed? who signed it? Guan Eng? I think not. The transfer of land happend under his his tenure as the Chief Minister, but the Legal document signed before this. Understand? Koh not signed the document with his private name or gerakan name or BN. He sign as Chief minister of Penang.

The document is Done. Now you want Lim to stop the transfer? You think Malaysia don’t have any law izzit? if Lim do so, Penang state gov will get sued. The out come will be:-

    1) Penang Gov Win, lot of investor will not wish to invest in penang because it’s Gov interrupt business too much and did not honor their contract this created a very bad image to investor. This may cause lot of penang citizen become unemployed or failed to create new jobs for penang citizen.

    2) Penang Gov Lose, State Gov have to pay lot of money to the developer. This may cause the State Gov lack of fund to even to operate (not to says develop) This will lead to unable to help other poor state citizen, provide fund to kebangsaan school.

If the case above happened. Who bare the consequence?

    You? Hindraf? the Villager?
Burning the whole jungle to save a few trees? I don’t think it is a good way.

Stop spinning to make LGE innocent. Stop any dubious project (like JB croocked bridge) from the previous government is not anti-investor, but pro-rakyat.

Do nothing and let a dubious project be continued is a traitor to rakyat and nation.

This is a hefty price of DAP own fault to allow a few favorable leaders to hold both ADUN and parliament seats by Lim Kit Siang. DAP own ruling says no candidate shall contest ADUN and parliament, but LKS (appears to have overlooked) the rule for his son LGE and his ex-political secretary Teressa Kwok.

LGE shall either resign from CM or parliament seat and concentrate his time and energy on a single mission.

It could turn the tide against PKR in the next GM. Go hindraf, go to bn. Or can bn now step out now and show what us what you can do?

If sitting in a CM post is called success, Koh Tus Koon should be the most successful man in Penang. I doubt so..

I earn my living without resorting to corruption, robbbery, ah long blood sucking, cheating, etc. I may not a multi-millionaire, but I stand tall in my life.

This is a typical loser who cannot debate like a matured man. This guy is inciting racial sentiment to protect LGE from bad comments.

I urge LGE to resign if he cannot accept bashings which he was good for when he was in the opposition camp.
