Chief Minister Guan Eng has issued a warning to Nusmetro Ventures after the Oasis developer’s “highly irresponsible and inflammatory” threats yesterday.
Meanwhile, the state investigative committee needs to quickly get to the bottom of the circumstances surrounding the questionable sale and land transfers. What has happened to the villagers’ report to the MACC?
The State Government will not take a single cent of the so-called “goodwill payment” from the developer unless the kampung Buah Pala residents agree to the compensation.
The Penang state government warns Nusmetro Ventures (P) Sdn Bhd, the developer of the proposed housing project in Kampung Buah Pala, for threatening to send bulldozers in by August 2 to forcibly evict residents and demolish their houses as highly irresponsible and inflammatory. It is highly improper to stoke fear into the villagers’ hearts by reminding them that they will have to move out by Aug 2 when the one-month grace period given by the developer expires and there will be “no more extensions”. The one-month grace period was negotiated by the state government with the developer to find a solution to the problem.
Nusmetro claimed to have offered the highest compensation in the state from RM140,000 to RM260,000 to the temporary occupation of land (TOL) holders as well as their immediate and extended families. And even offered one of the two cattle ranchers there RM330,000 including a five-year rent-free deal for land in Balik Pulau which was rejected. To say that the developer has the legal right not to pay anything to the residents just because the developer has a Federal Court order, would not assist in resolving this problem. Instead of all the cruel talk about bulldozers, the developer should continue to seek solutions that works towards a win-win situation for all parties. For this reason, the state government will not take a single cent of the “goodwill payment” proposed by the developer to the state government unless the villagers of Kampung Buah Pala agrees to the compensation.
I wish to reiterate that the state government has nothing to do with the eviction, or the Federal court order and the bringing in of bulldozers to demolish the houses. Instead the state government had intervened to prevent the eviction of the residents since last year. Even though this is a court order obtained by the developer, the state government would continue to work aggressively to try to assist the villagers.

It’s so easy Whathamoorthy to hide thousands of miles away in safety and “shoot” at LGE. Just come back home and prove the hero you are and fight the battle here. He promised to return, didn’t he? No? So stupid of him to attack PR government who’s trying to fight for the people. He’s “shooting” at the person who’s trying to help the people, instead of “shooting” at the thieves. LGE is definitely always right or experienced enought, nad definitely not without faults too. If he disagree with LGE’s methods, is he not able to call LGE personally and talk, instead of threatening and demonstrating all all the DAP offices? Why use threats? You may be a hero of sort but really childish. Why don’t you come back here and demonstrate yourself at the umno and gerakan’s offices too, since they were the ones who stole the land?? Why not a word? LGE took it all in good stride, despite all the demonstrations, even told the police not to take action against them because he respected the people’s right to voice out their opinions, etc… I hope the Kg Buah Pala folks got back their land for good by whatever means, but sorry, no more respect for Whathamoorthy. HIndraf is definitely already infiltrated by bn.

I am curious. I wonder where are the thousands of Pakatan supporters who manage to provide point by point arguments on the complex Perak Constitutional crisis.
How come no Pakatan bloggers or supporters who provide such analysis in Penang’s case to help the High Chaparral people ?
Also, where are the thousands of Constitutional lawyers, legal experts, as well as judges who used to give a lot of legal advice on the Perak crisis?
Why no one step in to discover loopholes or consider the Penang Constitution or the commercial law ?
Suddenly everyone don’t know the law already ?

Just becoz LGE is the current CM of Penang, he’s to blame is it……????
Kg Buah Pala land was sold by Koh Tsu Kun & “gang”…! Even if its from the left pocket to the right pocket, LGE’s hands are “tied”.
What agreement done between the developer & KTK is “sealed”…!!!
LGE is “NOT” that stupid to “NOT” want to help the villagers. It’s difficult to go against what’s legal & binding. (If it is!!)
Instead of Hindraf “shouting” & “waving”, they should make an appointment to see LGE to find a solution for the villagers. Don’t Hindraf have the “brains” to think like that…???
By doing street demo & screaming their head off, does it mean that they “care” & “represent” the Indians….?????
What have they done for the Indians “constructively”….????
What have they done for the Indians to create “opportunities” to better their lives…..???
What have they done for the Indians to bring them out of “poverty”…..???
You all tell me “WHAT HAVE DONE…….?????”
I can tell you “only” what they have done…
Only when there are “troubles” that involves the Indians, they will be there.
Set up “camp” & start their “shouting & screaming”….!!!!
And then say they support them. Nobody else…..!!!
That’s it………………!
“Shouting”…… only!!!
Why didn’t Hindraf go against KTK & gang for their wrong doing…??
They were the ones who “sign, seal & delivered” the land.
Why keep “attacking” LGE only & “NOT” mention the …??????
Got agreement is it…….???????????
Hindraf – One in London, one here. Both “ARE” professional people & yet they behave like what you see in “Movies”…….!!!
Being so well educated…., they should approach LGE, discuss & find a solution in a proper manner.
Right…………????????????????????????
The vilagers might not have it lucky in their education. Hindraf should “calm” them down………..
Instead they “ignite” the situation & made it worst…..!!!!
Come on lah…! Sit & have a discussion & find a soultion.
Shouting gets us all “nothing”…..!!!
When in anger, bad stuff comes out of our mouth. Our minds not “in sync”……! Things will “never” work out like that….
This Kg Buah Pala land has been sold a long time ago.
“WHY” did the villagers wait till the last minute to create all these…..???? “WHY…..???????”
By the way Hindraf…………
Where are your MIC “aneh”…….?????????????
Still for the Indians….?
I am “long winded” but I also want to see that nobody “gets left behind”………………!

I suspect Hindraf wants to replace MIC as the 3rd BN coalition partner in the peninsular.
This is a god sent opportunity for them to score points !
The exiled leader is surprising silent on the past government role in this.
Something is very fishing and definitely cooking.

well done….show them who is boss….enough of this bully tactics…who the hell Nusmetro think they are!!!
The land belongs to Kooperasi Kakitangan Kerajaan Pulau Pinang .
Nusmetro Ventures is just the developer . Anything unfavourable will see these State govt officers sabotaging everything Guan Eng does in Penang . The situation is a two way sword , either way …mati . You don’t support the villagers , you lose say maybe 100 votes or more from Bkt Gelugor , you support the villagers , the govt servants gonna screw you and sabotage everything you do …heads you lose ..tails you lose ..mati betul betul .

All parties involved with this BN created problem, should come to the meeting level headed and compromise in their minds, and not, raw arrogance…fingers pointing will not serve no one or have a fruitful result satisfactory to all. If civility is lost, the case is lost!…benefitting not a single party.
Hindraf must learn the art of communication and bargaining……..

LGE is a changed person, he is now MB and has become quite arrogant. What BN done in the past is gone, stop the blame game and start working. Small issue like this also cannot resolve, just take over that … land.

Now the residents of Kampung Buah Pala have threatened to send a letter to Unesco to revoke George Town’s World Heritage Site status (Thestar 3/7/09). LOL, this is like getting outsiders involved in your family problems. What a pathetic lot. My suggestion to Kampung Buah Pala villagers is to just vote for bn in the next election if they think that bn can solve their problems.

Rather than spit fire and vitroil, how about Hindraf begin a donation drive and collect from its members and the malaysian community money to buy the land form the developer? I am sure LGE will be happy to allow it to be called Hindrafland. The simple truth appears to be Hindraf wants things given on a silver platter, and we all know that is not going to happen.

Indians wanted the state govt. to prevent eviction
Chinese squatters also want state govt. to prevent eviction
Malay squatters also want state govt to prevent eviction.
Wow! What a rakyat-friendly Penang govt! I used to admire the guts of Hindraf leaders but not now. Their popularity with the indians had made them feel like they are MGR. They talked like that if the govt of the day is BN, their problem would had been solved. They boast as if the GE12 tsunami were their effort alone! Just barking up the wrong tree.

Last year my friend stored his unregistered Harley motorbike in a warehouse company without proper contract and document, unaware that the warehouse company is run by gangster.
A few weeks after my friend stored the motorbike, he saw a stranger using his Harley motorbike on the road with registered number plate, so he approached the stranger wanted to bring the stranger to the police, but shockingly, the stranger is able to produce legal documents that show the motobike belong to the stranger, the legal documents show that the stranger legally bought the bike from the warehosue company.
My friend has no choice but to confront the warehosue company. Only then he found out that the company is run by gangster and his bike is sold cheap to the gangster’s business associate (the stranger). Legally my friend does not have documemts to fight the case, and to fight with force with gangster is a losing battle.
A few weeks later the warehouse company is sold by the gangster to another company runs by real businessman. Sensing that he may have better chance against a real businessman, every day my friend went to the warehouse company to make noise.
The real businessman is sympathetic with my friend and tried to help him to re-coup some of the loses. My friend is not satisfied to re-coup some loses, so every day my friend is still barking at the real businessman to get back his bike. The real businessman approached the gangster and also the stranger who bought bike, but the stranger with the backing of the gangster only willing to re-sell back at much higher price.
I am also sympathectic with my friend, but since the above incident, my friend lost my respect because my friend has no courage no …. to bark at the gangster who actually did the harm to him yet my friend is asking for unreasonable demand from the real businessman who did not do any harm to him and actually wanted to help him.

Ronnie, you think LGE is useless? Good for you. Next time vote for BN and let them screw…. for good. Maybe you would like that…
Is it easy to find a solution when it is court binding? Please tell me what is your best solution? Say it now or forever hold your peace.

Only idiots believe Pakatan is capable, they were voted in merely they are less evil than BN. Understand?
