The PR administration has apparently responded very weakly in this affair, and in attempting to capitalise on that, Gerakan has decided to jump on the bandwagon to find fault but forgets that the situation was of their own doing when the BN state government was in power. So people should make up their minds who they are supporting and why one should not legitimately criticize a political coalition that one supports. If that political coalition is mature in it's vision, it will look at criticism as a healthy democratic element and NOT something to be suppressed. To be in public office and to be criticized is a natural phenomena. Those in public office should NOT expect NOT to be criticized. They should realize they are NOT perfect. To silence criticism is a repressive action in line with authoritarian and despotic government. Is that what we want? Then CAT has no meaning. Moreover, the PR has to be more mature and progressive in its thinking regarding the Kg. Buah Pala issue. If the State Government finds it legally impossible to acquire the land in question, then can it not deal with the developers in a different way? Is it unable to demand that housing be provided in the same location for those unwilling or unable to move from their present location. If this involves land that is productively being farmed, can this not be preserved for better environmental conservation? Penang has already lost so much of its agricultural land to so-called development that brings more problems socially, economically and environmentally. Do we want more of this unproductive depletion of our quality of life here in the form of pollution, haze, stress, crime and more? Thank you for your contribution to the increase in greenhouse gases, rising sea-levels, climate change and the emergence of new strange diseases like AH1N1 flu!
